Laurel Bangs (She/They)

I see therapy less as a pursuit of perfection and more as a space for curiosity and self-understanding, where we begin to loosen the psychological barriers that keep us stuck and open up possibilities for a more meaningful, connected, and balanced life. I work with adolescents and adults navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, autism and ADHD, LGBTQIA+ and identity-related challenges, and the everyday weight of stress. I support clients with concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and struggles with self-esteem.
My practice is client-centered, trauma-informed, and contextual, focusing on understanding each person as a whole rather than as a set of symptoms. I strive to create a safe, judgment-free space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported. My work is primarily informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relational Cultural Theory, and Family Systems Theory, helping clients better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, and develop practical tools for lasting change.
Above all, I value the therapeutic relationship and believe every person deserves to be met with genuine curiosity, compassion, and respect. My goal is to help you recognize your strengths, explore opportunities for growth, and make meaningful changes with the support and resources you need. I look forward to working alongside you as you build on your strengths, navigate challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change. Whatever brings you to therapy, I hope to provide a supportive space where you feel understood, empowered, and encouraged to move toward the life you want to live.
