Margot Rice (she/her)
Hi! I’m Margot Rice (she/her). I am a psychotherapist-in-training and I am currently completing my practicum internship at Roamers Therapy under the supervision of Shaysa Villa, LCSW.
Life can be filled with daunting amounts of unknown, often taking an unexpected and nonlinear route. When fear, stress, and feelings of anxiety overwhelm us, it can be difficult to know how to handle whatever comes next. Deep, meaningful connection, with both ourselves and others, can help us to feel supported, less alone, and more fulfilled as we move through the next unknown day.
As a relationally-focused and client-centered psychotherapist intern, I want to build a therapeutic connection with you that provides safety, comfort, and space for growth. I intend to thoughtfully accompany you in this therapeutic relationship by highlighting your strengths and affirming your identities. In collaboration, we will explore how past experiences and patterns might impact your current self and relationships. I will listen empathically and together we will identify ways to manage your difficult emotions or relational stressors in order to support your healing and growth. I believe every human’s experience is unique and contextual and deserves a personalized, integrative approach. This eclectic approach is informed by aspects of various modalities such as contemporary psychodynamic, trauma-informed, family systems, and queer theory.
I recognize the vulnerability it takes to open up to someone else and I am deeply grateful that you would consider sharing your story with me. I hope to meet every client where they’re at and I look forward to meeting you there.
