Morgan Cureton (she/her)

Hi, I’m Morgan Cureton (she/her). I am a psychotherapy fellow under the supervision of Shaysa Villa.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in service-driven institutions, supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds. These experiences deepened my belief that real change begins when we give ourselves permission to be radically honest about what we feel, what we need, and what we’ve been through.
Life comes with its ups and downs, and there are moments that can leave you questioning who you are or what you need. I don’t see therapy as a way to erase those feelings, but as a chance for us to listen to what they’re trying to tell you. It’s a space to slow down, untangle what’s been weighing on you, and make sense of the patterns that keep showing up. Together, with curiosity and care, we explore what those moments might reveal about your hopes, limits, and the parts of you that are ready for something new. That understanding shows up in my work as an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed therapist.
I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic Therapy in my work. This means we’ll explore how your thoughts, emotions, and early attachments shape the way you experience the world today, and how together we can begin to shift what feels stuck. My approach is collaborative and reflective, grounded in curiosity rather than judgment. I believe that therapy is a space where insight and change grow from understanding your patterns with compassion, not criticism.
Whether you’re navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, or major life transitions, my goal is to help you make sense of your experiences and reconnect with your sense of agency. Together, we’ll explore what matters most to you, your values, relationships, and hopes for the life you want to build, and create practical steps toward that vision.
The most meaningful part of this work for me is witnessing those quiet shifts: when someone feels a little lighter, when a long-held truth starts to make sense in a new way, or when a person begins to trust themselves again. Change often starts in small ways; it unfolds gradually through noticing, understanding, and choosing differently. I’m here to support you as you take those steps toward yourself with patience, honesty, and care.
