Jian Ou (she/her)

It can be easy to lose touch with yourself while trying to survive, meet expectations, or take care of others. Over time, it can become difficult to know what you need, what you want, or even what your own voice sounds like. When this happens, therapy can be an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been overlooked for a long time. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and autism, LGBTQIA+ and identity-related challenges, life transitions, identity exploration, family challenges, and the lasting impact of difficult experiences.
I see therapy as a collaborative process where you remain the expert on your own life. My role is not to tell you who you are or what you should do, but to help you better understand yourself and make sense of your experiences. I believe meaningful change often begins when we feel safe enough to be honest with ourselves and curious about our own story.
My work is informed by psychodynamic, relational, and person-centered approaches, while also incorporating practical tools from CBT, DBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based practices when helpful. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to each of my clients and work alongside them to find what feels most supportive and meaningful.
One of the things I value most about being a therapist is witnessing the courage and resilience people bring into the room. I am often moved by those who continue searching for themselves, even when they feel exhausted, discouraged, or unsure where to begin. I strive to create a space where you feel deeply heard, understood, and supported. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I would be honored to walk alongside you on that journey.
