Aleksandar Kajmakoski (they/them)

Atse - Roamers Therapy

Hi! I’m Aleksandar Kajmakoski (they/them). I am a provisionally licensed psychotherapist at Roamers Therapy under the supervision of Shaysa Villa MSW, LCSW.

Our bodies tell the stories of our lives—they hold onto all the pieces we have collected from the world, others, and ourselves. Each experience and interaction contributes uniquely to who we are, shaping our nervous systems, emotional responses, behaviors, and thoughts. And while we continually craft our ever-evolving lives, some of these pieces may not fit together the way we want them to. My goal as your therapist is to support your journey towards yourself and healing.

As a somatic psychotherapist, I center you as the expert on your own life and work with you to grow your understanding of yourself and your world through trauma-responsive, anti-oppressive, and relational lenses. My therapeutic approach is interactive, balancing direct feedback with curiosity and compassion. It is also integrative—I utilize the psychodynamic method, Somatic Experiencing (SE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Together, we will explore what might be getting in your way and work towards deepening your sense of self and increasing your attunement to your body and nervous system. I work with both individuals and couples to support struggles with trauma and PTSD, intergenerational trauma, inner child healing, identity development and empowerment, growing up as children of immigrants, life transitions, queerness, transness, sex, anxiety, depression, and shame.

As a queer, bicultural, and bilingual therapist that has lived and worked in the United States and abroad for much of my life, I understand how difficult it can be to show up as your authentic self. I am here to help alleviate some of the pressures you face so that you can fully embrace and express yourself in our therapeutic journey together. I approach our sessions with intention, dedicated to fostering a safe, judgment-free, and empathetic environment where we can build your capacity to learn, heal, love, and grow authentically. By working collaboratively and exploring your nervous system, we can create a transformative space that empowers you to make meaningful change. Together, we can explore the depths of your experiences, uncovering insights and strategies that lead to true empowerment and holistic well-being.
