Annie Scoltock (she/hers)

Annie Scoltock - Roamers Therapy

I believe in every person’s worth and capacity for change and connection. This belief guides my work, and I lead each session with unconditional positive regard, leaving judgment at the door. I invite each person I work with to step into the space with that same openness. In the therapeutic space we will build together, we work to reflect with intention and honesty. My goal is to help you reconnect with your authentic self in therapy and apply that work in ways that feel real, practical, and lasting outside the therapy room. Along the way, I will challenge and support you in becoming the version of yourself that best aligns with your values, needs, and goals.

This foundation shapes the work I do and the people I support in therapy. I specialize in working with adults, adolescents, and couples navigating hurt and harm across different areas of their lives, including interpersonal relationships and larger social systems. I truly believe in the power of relationships and social connections. It is no secret that strife with friendships, romantic partners, family members, colleagues, and others can deeply challenge our understanding and sense of safety, emotional security, self-image, and peace. That is why relationships and connection is central to emotional and mental health, and the therapeutic relationship offers an opportunity to practice connection and vulnerability in a safe and secure space. While I am drawn to exploring interpersonal connections, I also understand the overwhelming weight of the world we live in today. I recognize the harm happening in our communities that cannot be ignored, and that it must be considered in the context of each client and their distinct identities, histories, beliefs, and values.

My approach to therapy is integrative and relational, meaning I draw from a variety of evidence-based practices while tailoring our work to fit your unique needs, goals, and lived experiences. I also believe that the relationship we build together is central to the therapy process. When therapy feels safe, collaborative, and rooted in trust, it opens the door for deeper reflection, growth, and meaningful change. I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. These frameworks offer practical tools and meaningful insights that can support change here and now. I am also particularly interested in the power of narrative, how we make meaning of our experiences, and how reauthoring those stories can be a source of growth and empowerment.

My work is always grounded in the belief that you are the expert of your own experience. That doesn’t mean you have to navigate your healing journey alone.

Things that bring me joy

Dancing, dinner parties with friends, and spending time at the lake. My love from and for my friends and family drives me to be the best version of myself each day.
