Leslie Medrano (she/her)
Hi! I’m Leslie Medrano (she/her). I am a provisionally licensed psychotherapist at Roamers Therapy under the supervision of Shaysa Villa MSW, LCSW.
I understand how daily struggles may sometimes cause us to feel out of answers. In these moments, I’ve come to realize that mental health is the most fundamental component of our well-being, and I understand that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all or a linear process. In this unique process, my goal is to create a safe and supportive space for you to explore reflection, growth, and the challenges you may be facing. My intention for this therapeutic space I create for you is that you can express and confront obstacles that get in the way of yourself, romantic partners, family members, or others. Together, we can develop mental, emotional, and bodily toolboxes to navigate challenges and discomfort. I’m here to support you in finding the very own rhythm in therapy that best serves you. I encourage you to take the next step to connect with me as your psychotherapist.
At the heart of my therapeutic approach is a focus on collaboration. In our work together, we will find an appropriate flow that best suits you and your presenting issues(s). Our work will focus on solutions, distinguishing progression from perfection while engaging in mindfulness techniques. With a foundation in person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and person-environment fit theory, I bring a compassionate and authentic approach to your therapy space. I believe that the healing process starts with understanding our own stories, and I focus on helping clients reframe these narratives in ways that empower them to navigate their challenges and grow. By incorporating mindfulness into my personal and clinical work, I will help you manage stress and balance the beauty of healing and the struggle that comes with it. Through our collaborative work, I’ll help you engage in journaling, goal setting, reflection, and mindfulness techniques. These tools will help you track progress, and we will work toward a process of healing and growth.
Our therapeutic relationship will be the foundation for addressing anxiety, trauma, attachment, relationship issues, self-esteem, self-deprecating thought patterns, and poor ways of coping. The therapeutic method I find most impactful is the person-environment fit theory, as it helps align you with supportive relationships and resources needed to reduce stress and daily struggles. By integrating person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, and person-environment fit theory, I aim to create a therapeutic space where you can heal and grow. I am dedicated to helping you to navigate your challenges with authenticity, compassion, and empowerment.
