About Us

Discover your unique narrative and story, the parts that hold you back, and finally get the life and relationships you’ve always wanted and imagined.

Roamers Therapy was created by Shaysa Villa (she/they) understanding how hard it can be to find a modern & down-to-earth therapist. We work particularly well with individuals, couples, families, and children struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and interpersonal stressors. We take a culturally sensitive, unique, and creative approach to therapy to help them achieve mental well-being. This may be an overwhelming point in your life, but pursuing psychotherapy can be one of the most transformative experiences you can take to heal & grow from your current state.

Our clinicians are able to provide in-person individual, couples, family, and child therapy services from our offices in Chicago, as well as virtual therapy services if you are located anywhere in Illinois and Washington, D.C. You can learn more about each of our clinicians below.

We are dedicated to centering you, your partner, children, and family in our therapeutic process. Our goal is to truly get you—being as in tune and connected as possible during this deeply personal journey of caring for your mental health. Our approach is built on understanding your unique story, lived experiences, and multifaceted identity while delivering evidence-based treatment. We know that tailoring our care to your individual situation is essential.

At Roamers Therapy , you are encouraged to show up as yourself.

Our vision is to create a therapeutic space where every person feels empowered to explore their narrative and story, confront what holds them back, and cultivate the relationships—with themselves and others—they’ve always imagined and deserve.

At Roamers Therapy, we are redefining what mental health care should look like—accessible, modern, down-to-earth, and held as a vital human right, free from stigma and enriched by cultural awareness. With a zealous commitment to understand your story through an inclusive, trauma-informed, evidence-based, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care, we serve individuals, couples, children, and families with compassion and integrity.

Hi! I’m Aradhana Walker, LCSW, and also go by Rudi (she/her).

Life’s challenges can leave us feeling stuck and unable to imagine and move towards a better future. Often, the areas of our lives in which we feel the most stuck reflect unresolved issues from our past. As a culturally sensitive therapist with expertise in healing trauma, my goal is to help you get unstuck to find more meaning and joy in the present and greater hope for the future. I am passionate about working with individuals who are coping with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, relationship challenges, and the impacts of complex trauma, including childhood abuse and inherited generational trauma.

Hi, I’m Chelsey Daval (she/they), LCSW.

Life brings moments of joy, connection, and excitement, but it can also bring seasons where the emotional weight of everyday responsibilities feels overwhelming. Many people, regardless of age, find themselves stuck in patterns they do not want to be in. Struggling with the same issues again and again, unsure of how to name what they are feeling, or unable to imagine a way forward. This may look like ongoing anxiety, low mood, obsessive or rigid thinking patterns, or difficulties in relationships that begin to feel confusing or distressing. I believe that change is possible when you are supported in an environment that encourages reflection, honesty, and self-compassion.

Hi! I’m Erica Cole, LSW (she/her).

At times, we can feel stuck in cycles of unwanted patterns and feel unsure of how to navigate ourselves out of them. The sense of feeling like a part of you is lost can shake your world view as an individual and within relationships. You may notice that you are dealing with relationship conflicts, difficult managing life transitions, or consistently putting yourself last. My intention as your therapist is to walk alongside and empower you through tools, insight, and compassion that things can be different. My goal will be aid you connect your mind, body, and spirit. I will meet you exactly where you are, as exactly who you are, to help navigate through who is that you you would like be and allow yourself to come back to yourself or the relationships you imagined.

Hi, I’m Jess Sandoval, LCSW (she/her).

I often think of life as being a lot like the ocean. Some days feel calm and balanced. Other days feel like waves rushing toward us all at once, overwhelming and hard to navigate. In those moments, it can be difficult to find your footing. I believe that even when life feels unsteady, people have a deep capacity for resilience and meaningful change, especially when they feel supported. Therapy can be a space where we learn how to move through life’s waves with greater awareness, confidence, and self-trust. You do not have to face the waves alone.

Hi! I’m Vanessa Adan, LSW (she/her).

I understand how struggles can deeply impact our well-being and day-to-day life, making it difficult to move forward or feel at peace. As a Latina and a child of immigrants, I know that seeking help can feel unfamiliar, even scary, in a culture where therapy is often misunderstood or met with stigma. Many of us were taught to push through hardships in silence, but healing doesn’t mean forgetting where we come from and erasing our past—it means allowing ourselves the space to grow. I want to reassure you that it’s okay to challenge the unhealthy beliefs we grew up with, to set boundaries, and to begin healing from generational trauma. Not only do you deserve that, but by prioritizing your well-being, you’re also creating a path toward healing for future generations.

Hi! I’m Rebecca Corpuz Swanney, LPC (she/her).

It’s easy to feel disempowered in the world we live in today, especially when you have marginalized or intersectional identities, and/or experienced trauma. In our sessions, I hope to give clients an opportunity to feel empowered and in control of their treatment. I believe that many mental health issues stem from or are exacerbated by the current cultural climate we live in. In addition, many of the beliefs we have about ourselves are learned from our families, friends, and societal influences, and those in turn affect our emotions and behaviors.  In therapy, we can work together to untangle what beliefs are helping you and which ones are not. I also welcome feedback from my clients. I want to know what is working for you and what isn’t, and I hope to foster an environment where the client feels comfortable to express that criticism.

Hi! I’m Izzy Jimenez, LPC (she/her).

Confronting difficult aspects of life such as grief, traumatic events, relationship issues, and mental health struggles can feel overwhelming and scary. Choosing to start therapy and confront the complex emotions that life throws at us is a choice that deserves praise. It is my goal as a therapist to create a compassionate and non-judgmental environment to explore these difficulties and help you feel empowered. I believe that therapy is meant to be a collaborative experience, with you being the expert of your own life, and me being there to provide you with validation and guidance.

Hi! I’m Yingning Wang, LSW (she/hers).

Life often challenges us to navigate complex relationships, cultural expectations, and personal growth. As someone fluent in Mandarin and experienced in navigating cultural differences, I deeply understand how these dynamics shape our lives and identities. These experiences helped me acknowledge diverse perspectives while remaining grounded in empathy and authenticity. This understanding informs my approach to therapy, where I strive to create a space for your cultural and personal experiences.

Hi! I’m Annie Scoltock, LSW (she/hers).

I believe in every person’s worth and capacity for change and connection. This belief guides my work, and I lead each session with unconditional positive regard, leaving judgment at the door. I invite each person I work with to step into the space with that same openness. In the therapeutic space we will build together, we work to reflect with intention and honesty. My goal is to help you reconnect with your authentic self in therapy and apply that work in ways that feel real, practical, and lasting outside the therapy room. Along the way, I will challenge and support you in becoming the version of yourself that best aligns with your values, needs, and goals.

Hi, I’m Morgan Cureton, LSW (she/her).

There’s no roadmap to living a fulfilling life, and the challenges we face on our journeys can feel overwhelming, isolating, and ongoing. As we move through life, we may encounter past wounds and traumas on our journey, as they slowly take root in our behaviors, emotions, thoughts, and our most cherished relationships. As a therapist who believes radical honesty is the precursor to lasting change, I believe change, growth, and new beginnings start when we allow ourselves space and time to reflect and plan honestly around our challenges, triumphs, and life goals. My goal is to help you align with the radical truth of your life to keep you moving forward on your life’s journey.

Hi! I’m Sharanya Bharadwaj, LPC (she/her).

Our lives are shaped by the stories we share with others and the stories we keep inside. Some of these stories bring us closer, while others keep us stuck. Therapy offers a space where your story can unfold, be witnessed, and begin to take on new meaning.  I hope to hear your story, honoring its weight and its possibilities. I truly believe in the power of people’s stories. Each story helps us understand ourselves better about who we are, our past, and our relationships. Sharing them allows us to reshape those stories into more hopeful and empowering ones, opening up new possibilities for growth and connection. My practice emphasizes how valuable your story is and how you discover meaning through your relationships with others.

Hi! I’m Angelika Lewis, LSW (she/they).

As human beings, we exist in relationship to a larger ecosystem, including our families, neighborhoods, global communities, and the earth. As such, we have evolved to live and heal within the context of others and not alone. Even though we are wired this way, many of us have suffered relational and attachment wounds or have been socialized to suppress difficult emotions, impeding our ability to process and integrate these experiences. As a therapist, I believe that my role is to cultivate the conditions that allow individuals, couples, and families to expand their curiosity, self-awareness, and sense of what is possible, in the service of working towards identified values and goals.

Hi! I’m Aleksandar Kajmakoski, LSW (they/them).

Our bodies tell the stories of our lives—they hold onto all the pieces we have collected from the world, others, and ourselves. Each experience and interaction contributes uniquely to who we are, shaping our nervous systems, emotional responses, behaviors, and thoughts. And while we continually craft our ever-evolving lives, some of these pieces may not fit together the way we want them to. My goal as your therapist is to support your journey towards yourself and healing. As a somatic psychotherapist, I center you as the expert on your own life and work with you to grow your understanding of yourself and your world through trauma-responsive, anti-oppressive, and relational lenses. My therapeutic approach is interactive, balancing direct feedback with curiosity and compassion. It is also integrative — I utilize the psychodynamic method, Somatic Experiencing (SE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Hi! I’m Izabella Bebenek, LPC (she/her).

As a therapist, I specialize in exploring complexities within families, romantic relationships, friendships, or work relationships. I deeply believe the quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives. During my time in this field, I have witnessed that every human being strives for social interaction, whether with a friend, partner, or family. I also noticed that dysfunctional patterns in any of these relationships might cause enormous pain in clients. I believe working with relationship conflicts, even a slight change in this dysfunctional pattern, might help clients change their life qualities. Also, I recognize that relationship conflicts are not restricted to only our relationship with the outer world. The relationship with ourselves is also an essential indicator of our peace of mind. I am committed to helping you gain insight into your dysfunctional patterns. I aim to detect those dysfunctional patterns, whether inward or outward, and work through them to attain your peace of mind.

Hi! I’m Raquel Hennessey, LCSW (she/her).

Life is fun and exciting but also challenging. At times life is overwhelming and we are not sure how to deal with how we are feeling. Sometimes it is difficult to name what you are feeling and working through them can seem impossible. Through my work with those experiencing domestic violence, I have seen a range of individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma and more. As a modern eclectic trauma informed therapist, I recognize and understand the importance of creating a space that is free to be expressive and non-judgmental.

Hi! I’m Kathleen Truby, LPC (she/her).

‘Life’s obstacles are easier to overcome when you have the right support’. At this time, you may be experiencing emotional, professional, romantic, familial or other relational obstacles that you may need additional guidance and support with. When life gets difficult to overcome, you can start to believe that nothing is going well and be rushed with a feeling of hopelessness. This feeling of hopelessness can leave you feeling severely out of control. Understanding deeply the distress that can come with struggling with relationships and feeling out of control, I’m here to be a gentle, yet skillful and measured process for you to approach your current feelings and thoughts.
