Morgan Cureton (she/her)

There’s no roadmap to living a fulfilling life, and the challenges we face on our journeys can feel overwhelming, isolating, and ongoing. As we move through life, we may encounter past wounds and traumas on our journey, as they slowly take root in our behaviors, emotions, thoughts, and our most cherished relationships. As a therapist who believes radical honesty is the precursor to lasting change, I believe change, growth, and new beginnings start when we allow ourselves space and time to reflect and plan honestly around our challenges, triumphs, and life goals. My goal is to help you align with the radical truth of your life to keep you moving forward on your life’s journey.

My approach to therapy integrates relational, culturally sensitive, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed practices to help me understand your positionality and role in their world. Each individual comes to therapy with their own strengths and setbacks. My therapeutic approach allows me to amplify your own intuition, sense of meaning, and personal expertise while reviewing their challenges with curiosity, safety, and understanding. I utilize my therapeutic space for you  as an opportunity to reflect and untangle new or emerging concerns.

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and psychodynamic methods in my work. These methods allow me opportunities to know and relate to your fully, within emphasis placed on their thoughts, relational attachments, and personal experiences that shape their worldview. I tailor my modalities to be both collaborative and reflective, grounded in curiosity rather than judgment. These modalities allow you to detail their life’s journey through their own perspective, free from outside judgement or punishment. Because I believe therapy is where insight and change grow from safety, I strive to learn about your goals and needs through compassion, not criticism.

I’ve had the opportunity to work extensively with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, body image concerns, empowerment, and major life transitions. I’m drawn to working with these populations because I’ve walked along similar paths with loved ones and community members. True connection with people interested in exploring values, relationships, and hopes for our collective future, start with removing barriers to emotional understanding and grounding.

I understand that starting therapy can be daunting, and I’m here to walk with you through moments of struggle and success. I cherish each opportunity to connect with you and begin witnessing quiet shifts in their mood, cognition, and sense of empowerment. Change often starts in small ways, unfolding gradually with support, care, and personal value alignment. I’m here to support you as you take those steps on your new journey with patience, empowerment, and grounding.
