Mission, Vision, and Values

Your story and identity are uniquely yours—and they deserve to be fully seen, honored, and understood. We help bring your entire narrative into clear focus, helping you choose what stays and what is gently released. Together, we’ll rewrite your story authentically, empowering you to confidently create and embrace the life and relationships you’ve always imagined.

Our Story

Roamers Therapy was created to meet a need that many people silently carry: the desire to feel truly seen, understood, and supported in having the life and relationships they‘ve always imagined.

Before Roamers, many people shared the same frustration—therapy often felt like a guessing game. Some sessions drifted with no structure, full of vague questions and little direction. Others focused too narrowly on quick fixes and trendy techniques, reducing complex struggles to checklists and talking points. In both cases, something was missing: a grounded, thoughtful approach that helped people make sense of their story and feel guided through real change and transformation.

Roamers Therapy was founded to offer something different.

We believe therapy should have both depth and structure. Our work blends depth-oriented exploration with clear structure, always tailored to who you are and where you’re trying to go. We use evidence-based strategies while staying down-to-earth and collaborative. This is a place where your experiences, values, and challenges are treated with care—and where your unique story matters.

The idea became clearer during a conversation with a friend who had tried therapy several times before. Each time, they had walked in with the hope of being understood—and left feeling like they were either talking into a void or being rushed toward solutions that didn’t stick. What they needed was someone who could help them hear their own narrative, identify what was getting in the way, and work with them to map out a plan for real, lasting change. That conversation sparked the vision that would define Roamers: a space where people’s stories helped them feel truly connected to themselves and others.

Roamers Therapy was built for people like that friend—and people like you—who are ready to understand themselves more deeply and want a therapist who knows how to listen, guide, and help make change possible.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a therapeutic space where every person feels empowered to explore their narrative and story, confront what holds them back, and cultivate the relationships—with themselves and others—they’ve always imagined and deserve.

At Roamers Therapy, we are redefining what mental health care should look like—accessible, modern, down-to-earth, and held as a vital human right, free from stigma and enriched by cultural awareness. With a zealous commitment to understand your story through an inclusive, trauma-informed, evidence-based, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care, we serve individuals, couples, children, and families with compassion and integrity.

Our Values

Trauma-Informed Care

At its heart, therapy is about creating safety, a place where you don’t have to brace yourself for judgment, misunderstanding, or more harm. Trauma changes the way people move through the world. It shapes how close they let others get, how they trust, and how they protect themselves. That’s why our approach is rooted in trauma-informed care.

Culturally Informed Care

We provide care that welcomes diverse cultural backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences, recognizing the unique perspectives that each worldview brings to the therapeutic space. Our approach is rooted in cultural humility and awareness, honoring the values, histories, and traditions that shape each person’s story. We strive to ensure that all clients feel respected, understood, and empowered throughout their healing process.

LGBTQIA+ Affirming

We respect, support, and validate identities and lived experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community. We provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can express and explore their identities without fear or hesitation.

Evidence-Based Therapy

We are committed to providing the highest standard of care through the use of evidence-based therapeutic modalities. These include the Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Psychodynamic Therapy. Each of these approaches has been rigorously validated through scientific research and clinical trials, ensuring that our methods are not only effective but also grounded in the latest psychological findings.

Client Centered Practice

Our approach is guided by a deep respect for each client’s individuality, autonomy, and inner wisdom. Being client-centered means more than placing the client at the center of the therapeutic process; it means actively listening, honoring each person’s pace, and co-creating a space where their voice leads the way. Our therapists and practice management team approach each individual with authenticity, warmth, and a non-judgmental presence. We strive to build relationships based on trust, safety, and collaboration, and recognize that true healing and growth occur when clients feel deeply seen, heard, and empowered in their therapeutic journey.

Feedback-Informed

As part of our treatment approach, we have implemented routine and formalized Feedback-Informed Treatment. Feedback Informed Treatment allows clients to use their voice and for their therapist to utilize the client’s feedback to inform their treatment. When we say we are collaborative, we aim to align with that value strictly. Striving to understand what is going well and what has been a failure creates safety and trust. It maintains healthy communication between clients and their therapists and a culture of feedback among therapists and clients.

Ethics, Integrity & Honesty

We are unwavering in our commitment to ethical practice and professional responsibility. We uphold the highest standards of clinical ethics, ensuring that every aspect of the care process –from intake to discharge– is grounded in transparency and a trauma-informed framework that prioritizes client dignity and autonomy. We approach each session with integrity, cultural humility, and a deep respect for confidentiality, and believe that ethical consistency is the foundation for building the safety and trust necessary for meaningful therapeutic work.

Transparency in Care

Transparency is essential to building trust and fostering collaborative therapeutic relationships. We are committed to fostering a culture of clarity, inclusivity, and mutual respect by communicating honestly and promoting transparency with our clients, colleagues, and community. From clearly stating therapeutic goals and expectations to openly discussing treatment options and limitations, we aim to ensure that every individual who interacts with our services feels informed and empowered.

Structured Care

We offer weekly appointments, as commitment is essential for psychotherapy to be effective and valuable. We also provide weekly supervision to our clinicians to help support their professional development and continuing education regarding our clients’ care.

Accountability

Accountability means taking responsibility for the care we provide, continually evaluating our work, and being responsive to feedback from clients and colleagues. Our clinicians and management team are committed to reflective practice, quality improvement, and transparent outcome tracking. We believe that integrity is demonstrated not only by intention but also by action, and we embrace accountability as the cornerstone of safe and respectful mental health care.
