Mission, Vision, and Values

Your story and identity are uniquely yours—and they deserve to be fully seen, honored, and understood. We help bring your entire narrative into clear focus, helping you choose what stays and what is gently released. Together, we’ll rewrite your story authentically, empowering you to shape your life and your relationships with confidence.

Our Story
Roamers Therapy was created to meet a need that many people carry when their mental health suddenly catches them off-guard: the opportunity and space to feel truly seen, understood, and supported in leading a life of fulfillment and meaningful relationships.
When people take the step to start therapy, they often share the same frustration that in one of their most vulnerable times in life, while seeking care, that therapy feels like a guessing game and unclear why it sometimes helps and why it sometimes doesn’t. Some sessions can drift with no structure; full of vague questions that seem ambiguous and do not have a clear direction. Others focus on quick fixes or trendy techniques, offering temporary relief but leaving deeper complexities untouched. In both cases, something is missing: a deep, intentional, and thoughtful approach that helps people make sense of their complex lived experience, story and identity and what needs to happen to bring about change.
Roamers Therapy was founded to offer a distinct and distinguishable guide to individuals, couples, and families in navigating their mental health care.
We understand that therapy needs a balance between depth and structure. With our work, we process your lived experiences with you, while also giving you clear direction on how to move forward in alignment with your goals and unique sense of self. We use an evidence-based approach while staying down-to-earth and collaborative so that the change doesn’t just stay in the room, it becomes a part of your life. This is a space where your identity, experiences, values, and challenges are treated with care—and where your unique story matters and guides treatment.
The idea became clearer during a conversation with a friend who had tried therapy several times before. Each time, they had walked in with the hope of being understood—and left feeling like they were either talking into a void or being rushed toward simplistic solutions that could have been Googled. What they needed was someone who could help them hear their own narrative, identify what was getting in the way, and work with them to map out a plan for real, lasting change. That conversation sparked the vision that would define Roamers. Roamers Therapy was built for people like that friend—and people like you—who are ready to understand themselves more deeply and want a therapist who knows how to listen, guide, and help make change possible.

We are honored to provide inclusive, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care to individuals, couples, children, and families coming from all backgrounds and identities.
Our Guiding Principles
Our role is to create a space where you can explore your inner world and move toward change, growth, and transformation. We take a trauma-informed approach with care and attunement, recognizing how each person’s identity and lived experiences shape their needs.
We believe that receiving confidential, ethical, transparent, and structured mental health care is non-negotiable. To ensure the highest quality of care, we have developed a proprietary multi-step assessment and feedback process that allows us to continuously understand and meet your needs. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of evidence-based practice, ethical responsibility, and integrity. Our commitment extends beyond the therapy room. Through community outreach, we build lasting connections and expand access to care. At Roamers, you’re invited to show up exactly as you are, whether this is your first time in therapy or a continuation of your journey. We honor the fullness of your identity and meet you with humility, skill, and openness.
Throughout the process , we provide tools for insight, motivation, and real-life change so that therapy doesn’t just stay in the room, but becomes part of how you live, grow, and thrive.
Our Values
Trauma-Informed Care
At its core, therapy is about creating safety, a space where you don’t have to brace yourself for judgment, misunderstanding, or more harm. Trauma-informed care is an approach that recognizes how past experiences influence the way people trust, connect, and protect themselves, and uses that awareness to guide every part of the therapeutic process.
This means we pay attention not only to what you share, but to how we listen, respond, and pace the process. We strive to avoid re-traumatization, respect your boundaries, and honor your choice in what feels right for you. We believe healing happens when trust, collaboration, and empowerment are part of every step of the work.
Our clinicians are trained to recognize when trauma is present, even if it doesn’t show up in obvious ways. With compassion, curiosity, and cultural awareness, we adjust our approach so you can feel supported. Our goal is to create a trauma-informed space where that healing feels sustainable, sensitive to your past, and responsive to your present needs.
Culturally Informed Care
Culturally informed care recognizes and welcomes diverse cultural backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences, acknowledging the unique perspectives that each worldview brings to the therapeutic space. Our approach is rooted in cultural humility and awareness, honoring the values, histories, and traditions that shape each person’s story, invisible and visible identities. When receiving care, we strive to ensure that all clients have their dynamic identities to feel respected, understood, and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.
LGBTQIA+ Affirming
We respect, support, and validate the identities and lived experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community. We recognize the unique strengths and challenges individuals may face in society and in therapy, and provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can express and explore their identities without fear or hesitation.

Evidence-Based Therapy
Evidence-based therapy refers to treatment approaches that integrate scientific research with both clinical expertise and client needs to improve mental health and well-being. Our practice incorporates modalities such as Psychodynamic Therapy, Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), each of which has been studied in research settings and supports evidence-based practice. We stay up to date with research and evolving practices to ensure that our methods are effective and aligned with current standards of care.
Client Centered Practice
Our approach is guided by a deep respect for each client’s individuality, autonomy, and inner wisdom. Being client-centered means more than placing the client at the center of the therapeutic process; it means actively listening, honoring each person’s pace, and co-creating a space where their voice leads the way. Our therapists and practice management team approach each individual with authenticity, warmth, and a non-judgmental presence. We strive to build relationships based on trust, safety, and collaboration, and recognize that growth occurs when clients feel seen, heard, and empowered in their therapeutic journey.
Feedback-Informed
We believe a culture of feedback is integral to a healthy therapeutic relationship. Feedback-informed treatment includes routine and formalized opportunities for you to voice what is going well and what needs improvement in your mental health care. We pair your feedback with research-supported methods to develop a tailored approach that aims for the most meaningful treatment outcome.
Ethics, Integrity & Honesty
As a practice, we are committed to being ethical and professional by delivering only evidence-based treatment and protecting your confidentiality through HIPAA-compliant communication and secure documentation. We are transparent in every part of the process from intake to discharge, and aim to make our policies and therapy process as clear as possible.
We believe ethical consistency and integrity is the foundation for building the safety and trust needed for meaningful therapeutic work.
Transparency in Care
Transparency in care looks like clear and forthcoming communication, shared understanding, and honesty at every stage of the therapeutic process. It is essential to building trust and fostering collaborative therapeutic relationships. We are committed to fostering a culture of clarity, inclusivity, and mutual respect by communicating honestly and promoting transparency with our clients, colleagues, and community. From clearly stating therapeutic goals and expectations to openly discussing treatment options and limitations, we aim to ensure that every individual who interacts with our services feels informed and empowered.

Structured Care
Therapy works best when there is a sense of rhythm, clarity, and direction. Without structure, sessions can remain on the surface without leading to meaningful change. At Roamers, we use evidence-based frameworks to guide each session with intention and continuity. Our therapists track themes and follow through with interventions on a weekly basis to build momentum in your healing journey. We use structure to move toward depth and change that is aligned with your goals.
Accountability
Accountability means taking responsibility for the care we provide, continually evaluating our work, and being responsive to feedback from clients and colleagues. Our clinicians and management team are committed to reflective practice, quality improvement, and transparent outcome tracking. We believe that integrity is demonstrated not only by intention but also by action, and we embrace accountability as the cornerstone of safe and respectful mental health care.
